WHO will you become in 2017?
Goal setting and goal achieving are important as we move into a new year. However, I want to contrast a few ideas on the subject which are vitally important as well.
Zig Ziglar used to tell people “I am in the transportation business. I help people get from where they are to where they want to be.”
John C. Maxwell cautions us: “Many people suffer from destination disease. They are so focused on where they are going, they forget to enjoy the journey.”
I find many people who can only ‘feel successful” if they can draw a line through every goal at the end of the year. They seldom find peace and joy “in the moment” but only after all accomplishments have been marked and celebrated. My challenge to you is to watch the video, write down the questions and then consider this, Is it more important that I BECOME someone special, better, more compassionate and loving, or is it more important that I accomplish something grand without regard for WHO I BECOME in the process?
